Dear Friends,
We are planning a benefit concert for Telecare to take place on Friday, February 29th at 7pm. The location is New Life Christian Reformed Church, 35270 Delair Road, Abbotsford.
We are calling the event “AN EVENING OF PRAISE” because that is what we plan to do! The Joyful Sounds Children’s Choir will perform as will a Men’s Quintet. We also plan to have a time for congregational singing. No Charge, but a free will offering will be taken.
We would love it if you would come! Invite your friends and family!
With Appreciation for all you do,
Debbie

Telecare BC is a Christian aide organization that provides a place for people who are going through tough times to call and just talk.
This website is intended to serve as a directory of resources in British Columbia for those same people, and for people who are trying to be of assistance. This site is nowhere near completion yet, and is being added to daily.
Check back frequently for updates.
My role is simply to help Telecare BC with some technology-related planning and implementation. (In case you’re wondering who I am to be doing this, here’s a little more information.)

This document is a guide to confidentiality and ethics for Telecare volunteers. It was last updated in August 2002.
Overview
When you become a volunteer with Telecare, you enter a field in which considerations of ethics, privacy and confidentiality of the greatest importance.
At times callers will share information with you which could cause them distress or harm if it became known elsewhere. The materials which follow include a Code of Ethics, which was adopted by the Board of Telecare in August 2002, and a number of other documents which provide guidance on these issues.
As a general guide, you should respect the privacy of callers at all times. Except as indicated in the following documents, you must not repeat the contents of a call to anyone except another Telecare volunteer, and even then only if they need to know, not as a matter of gossip.
You should never do anything which may cause harm or concern to a caller, or to another Telecare worker.
We are a Christian-based organization, providing a social service, not a Christian outreach, or witnessing mission. All our volunteers are Christians, and we maintain Christian values. Accordingly you will never say or promote anything with a caller, which would be contrary to those values. You may share your Christian witness when invited, but you should never assume such an invitation and you should never “preach”. Some callers will be turned away by our over-eagerness, and we may lose our ability to help them. If you are unsure in this area, please talk with the Executive Director, or a Board member.
